Neck pain may be accompanied by stiffness, headache, and neurological symptoms such as weakness and numbness. It may be caused by day-to-day activities such as poor working and sleeping postures, spinal degeneration, or injury. Some important information on neck pain is provided at the end of this article.
Evidence-based chiropractic treatment includes spinal manipulation and mobilization, massage stretching, home exercise with advice and training, self-care activities, and various associated electrotherapies. Research shows these treatments are best used in combination. Typical medicine-based treatments include acetaminophen and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories.
